Cooking Class - Italian Comfort Food From Scratch

Uncover the colorful flavors of different vegetarian takes on authentic, mouthwatering Italian favorites.

In this hands-on cooking class, you will learn recipes for four traditional Italian comfort foods. Chef Jose will teach you how to craft vegetarian takes on each dish, while also focusing on the classic ingredients that make Italian fare so flavorful and delicious.

Begin by preparing a simple, yet elegant caprese salad centered on fresh, high-quality ingredients. Next, bread and fry your own potato croquetas before layering eggplant, ricotta, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese between decadent lasagna noodles made from scratch. For dessert, make rich and creamy cannolis by hand in true Italian fashion.

Guests are welcome to provide wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Jose taught me how to make an appetizer dish of stuffed dates wrapped in bacon. He clearly and slowly demonstrated how to properly cut the date and remove the pit. He then stuffed it with goat cheese. He used thick cut bacon to wrap around the stuffed date and baked them off. Chef Jose has an extremely friendly demeanor which made me feel so welcome.
