Cooking Class - Authentic American-Chinese Cuisine

What You’ll Do

Learn six Chinatown-inspired recipes so you can recreate your personal favorite Chinese-American fare.

American-Chinese food is firmly rooted in the immigrant neighborhoods of San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles and other major cities. In this cooking class, Chef Linda will introduce you to many of the "classic" dishes enjoyed today that began as simple fare over 150 years ago.

Begin by learning basic culinary prep work and knife skills so you can quickly prepare a buffet of favorites, including crunchy egg rolls with homemade sauce, wonton or hot and sour soup, and two entrées of your choosing accompanied by lo mein noodles or fried rice.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

My wife and I gave ourselves a cooking class as a Christmas present: Flavors of the Southwest with Chef Linda of Sage Culinary - an independent contractor for Cozymeal. We learned to cook Antojito, made Pepita Caesar Dressing, had a blast making Santa Fe-Style Chile Rellenos and Pipian Rojo with Beans a la Olla, and for dessert Buñuelos and a Mexican Chocolate Sundae. We learned a lot about the food’s history (Linda is a food anthropologist!) as well as cooking techniques, prepping and roasting our own poblano chiles. I now can proudly say I know how to properly hold and use a chef’s knife. Linda was a great teacher! Great night of fun, learning, and delicious food!

It was an awesome experience and not just a cooking class. Linda was great and taught us not only how to cook a great meal, but provided a lot of great background and stories around the meal.
