Bring the sushi bar home when you learn to make your own nigiri and sashimi creations!

In this hands-on sushi-making class with Chef Alejandro, you will learn how to prepare a traditionally inspired multi-course menu of gourmet nigiri and sashimi sushi with a modern twist.

Chef Alejandro will begin this class by sharing a few tips and trade secrets for selecting the best ingredients and choosing the freshest fish for homemade sushi. Then, you will learn how to prepare salmon sashimi, a different type of sashimi known as usuzukuri, salmon nigiri with sushi rice and mochi with mango and strawberries for dessert.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Fascinated by this multidisciplinary craft, he went on to study sushi making in three more countries before settling in the U.S. Today, Chef Alejandro can be found teaching sushi-making classes and hosting private events.

What a WONDERFUL experience. Chef Alejandro is such a good and patient teacher, teaches not just technique but respect for the process of creating sushi. I just loved his class, and the resulting sushi. Besides the teaching and learning, he also made the experience fun and memorable for our group. Our friends who live here in Chicago will be recommending this experience to others. What a lovely and memorable and yummy experience. HIGHLY recommend.

Chef Alejandro gave us such a great experience! He was very detailed and patient! Along with instruction there was fantastic conversation so that it felt more like dinner with a friend, while learning something new! He’s extremely knowledgeable and gives great tips along the way! Chef Alejandro was great to learn from. Everything was well organized and he truly knew how to convey the intricacies of his craft. My daughter, 12 years old, had a great time and Chef went above and beyond to accommodate a special request that wasn't a normal part of his menu. Really a pleasure taking this class.

Chef Alejandro rocks! Simply put, he held an incredible event in our home and showed just how passionate he is about his work. He invested a significant amount of time teaching us the start-to-finish skills and tools to make beautiful sushi rolls and hand-rolls. From just this one class, we successfully navigated the entire process again on our own a week later. Whether looking just for a fun event or to learn useful skills to recreate items on your own, Chef Alejandro is your guy.

Our experience with Alejandro was amazing. Every dish was delicious and he did a fantastic job explaining each course. He left our kitchen the way it looked when he arrived. Everything was perfect! It was a great birthday surprise. The chef explained every dish and was able to change up flavors based on what we liked and didn't like. He didn't rush us and was nice. He cleaned up after as well. Would highly recommend.
