Cooking Class - Sushi Rolling for Beginners

Dive into this beginner sushi rolling class and become your own itamae in no time!
In this beginner-level, hands-on sushi-making class with Chef Alejandro, you will learn the everything you need to know to make some of the most popular types of sushi rolls at home.
You will begin this class by learning how to prepare kappamaki — a thin sushi roll with a single cucumber slice in the center. Then, you'll handcraft California rolls with capelin roe, and authentic Japanese salmon temaki cones. Chef Alejandro will also share tips and trade secrets for selecting the best ingredients and choosing the freshest fish for homemade sushi.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Alejandro is a sushi itamae bringing more than a decade of professional culinary experience to the table. Chef Alejandro first learned the Japanese art of sushi making in Venezuela. Fascinated by this multidisciplinary craft, he went on to study sushi making in three more countries before settling in the U.S. Today, Chef Alejandro can be found teaching sushi-making classes and hosting private events.
