Jamaican cuisine is an exotic amalgamation that is equal parts colorful, diverse, fascinating, and appealing. In this hands-on class, Chef Tay has harnessed these elements epitomizing the style of classic Jamaican cuisine and invites you to enjoy them for yourself as your create an authentic three-course menu.
The recipes you can look forward to preparing include flaky Jamaican beef patties filled with a slew of aromatic spices, a simple, yet bold curry shrimp over white rice, and caramelized sweet plantains. For dessert — the perfect light and crispy banana fritters.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Tay was great. She explained to us step by step how everything should be done. Food was amazing, super tasty. It was great to have her come to our home since she showed us how to use our own kitchenware to cook all the food. I really recommend this class.

Chef Tay is a very nice person and I enjoyed spending time with her! Her food was very tasty, and she is passionate about Southern and Caribbean cooking. I learned how to make grits creamy and tasty -- and they were delicious!

Since I have known this woman, she has been cooking! I am happy to see her share it with the world! The Mac & Cheese is the cheesiest, The Fried Chicken is the crispiest and if you name any seafood dish, she can execute it with TLC and finesse! The way her soul speaks through her dishes, it is riveting! I would book her for any event and be confident that my guests will not only have a satisfied palette, but also be met with incomparable service and professionalism!
Meet your chef
After growing up in her family kitchen, Chef Tay knew she wanted to dive headfirst into a culinary career. She started her own catering business while working towards both her undergraduate and graduate degrees. Chef Tay is an experienced and talented private chef with a passion for food, namely Southern and soul food, as well as Caribbean recipes passed down from family members.
