Engaging and funny, Chef Derrick makes even the most novice cook feel at home, even when stuffing and pan-frying empanadas or learning a little-known French technique to perfectly plate ice cream. The thing that stands out most about chef Derek is his engaging and warm personality. Rarely without a smile on his face, chef Derrick explains simple and advanced cooking techniques with ease and humor. I asked a mix of questions - easy/starter chef questions to see how he would explain them, and also about more advanced techniques that I personally wanted to know - and he had a simple, wonderful answer for every one.
Chef Derrick has incredible culinary knowledge and experience that's sure to impress. He studied at The Culinary Institute of America, where he earned his spot as a true master chef. His passion and expertise landed him amazing roles as the private chef and caterer to Hillary Clinton, the White House, Vassar University, and so many more.
