Learn to harness the explosion of flavors bursting from traditional Thai dishes with Chef Joni.

Let Chef Joni guide you through coordinating a colorful array of fresh ingredients and synchronizing the succulent, umami flavors that bring Thai food to life. For the most authentic Thai creations, Chef Joni utilizes three components in this class: knife skills, specialty ingredients, and flavor building.

The class begins with miang kham, a classic Thai appetizer consisting of stuffed spinach leaves, and a tom kha soup that unravels the bewildering sweetness of galangal root. Move onto the main course with a choice of larb chicken, a zesty, warm salad elevated with cooling mint and bright cilantro, or pad Thai that is lightened up with zucchini and carrot noodles served with traditional rice noodles. Tofu or chicken options are available. End on a sweet note with a helping of velvety smooth mango sticky rice.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Joni’s focus is on building flavors. Mostly a self-taught cook, she is also a graduate from Bauman College of Holistic Nutrition and Culinary Arts, and has learned from locals in Marrakesh, several regions of Italy, and in the Bay Area. With Chef Joni, you will learn how to think like a chef and understand cooking principles. She strives to use local products, organic produce, wild-caught fish, and grass-fed and pasture-raised meats.

We couldn’t have asked for a better teacher, Chef! The food was incredible and she made it so easy - Jonu teaches you how to cut vegetables properly and make the knife work for you and Shows you how to build flavors as you cook. I highly recommend Joni!

Joni was amazing and the coking class was stellar! She made it fun and easy as we choppied and cooked and happily consumed four delicious courses. I learned alot of cooking tips and food science. I could not recommend her more!
