Cooking Class - Luxurious French Cooking

Create a four-course menu of delicacies like fresh oysters and filet mignon au poivre.

Join this class for an evening with the most romantic and exquisite French recipes, and take these elegant cooking techniques home to share. Chef Anup brings years of professional culinary experience to this educational and delicious class.

Students will learn to chuck fresh oysters and dress them with a house-made mignonette. Chef Anup teaches the basics of making velvety cauliflower soup and chicken liver mousse. The main course includes learning to make filet mignon in a boozy pepper sauce and perfectly cooked sea trout in a traditional almond glaze, with a silky chocolate mousse for dessert. This is a not-to-be-missed opportunity to learn very useful cooking techniques and enjoy luxurious French cooking while you're at it.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

I really enjoyed the time spent with Chef Anup. His clear descriptions of technique were very thorough and answered any questions I had. In particular, I had a question of the lamb shank. Where to procure them and how to cook them. He explained that you can braise them long and slow for hours, but also, to save time, but not as a short cut, can get the exact same result cooking them in a pressure cooker for 25 minutes. It was as if he pulled the curtain back and exposed me to  some true tricks of the trade, as well as time management. Which who hasn't ever said, There's just not enough time. Now, no excuses. You really won't believe the combination of flavors from this menu that you will achieve in such a short time and effort.

Chef Anup also made his mark at Tertulia Restaurant and El Colmado before opening his own eatery in Manhattan.
