Learn to prepare both traditional and nontraditional paellas from Spanish Chef Jose Luis!
In this paella cooking class, Chef Jose Luis will teach you how to prepare a classic dish from his native Spain. The class will take place in Chef Jose Luis's private professional kitchen, where he will show you the preparation of paella, the traditional dish from Valencia that is often seen as Spain's national dish. You will prepare a few different styles of paella, both traditional and nontraditional, and will leave the class satiated and full of knowledge about how to create your own paella at home!

Meet your chef
I was born in Seville, Spain and raised in Barcelona. At the age of 20 I came to California, where I started cooking Spanish food for friends. When I was 30, I opened my first restaurant in Portola Valley. After 16 years, I moved the restaurant to Menlo Park, where it has a shady patio, a cozy bar de tapas with fireplace, a wood-paneled banquet room, and a wine library. I look forward to teaching you to prepare my country's cuisine in this beautiful space.
