After taking this class, you’ll be able to whip up Paleo and gluten-free North and West African cuisine with ingredients plucked straight from the farmer’s market. Chef Afia, a native of Ghana, will teach you how to make healthy, palate-pleasing fare.
The meal will begin with a fresh and spicy tomato salad tossed. Next up is a traditional Kelewele--saucy baked plantains--before continuing on with Mpotompotoo, a dynamic and classic African dish, and steak over tender baked okra . The meal concludes with a cooling watermelon salad topped with blueberries, scallion, mint and balsamic vinaigrette.

Afia was amazing. She was so kind and so warm and welcoming and a lot of fun. I learned a lot and I want to have more experiences with her and Cozy meal. As for the tip, my friend paid me so I will ask her but at this time, I just wanted to give a 5 star rating. I would also love the recipe so I can cook this again! thank you.

The experience was phenomenal! Chef Afia was very personable, informative, and encouraging! Meal preparation/cooking should always be like this! Oh, did I mention that the food was delicious? Superb!

Afia is the most immediately likable person I have ever met! She’s warm smart and affable. Her place is welcoming and the food tastes like heaven- absolutely the best freshest ingredients with complex flavors that delight. Just thinking about the meal and the company brings me joy! I am originally from West Africa and I attended cooking school in Ghana. I am also a fashion designer, writer, and an artist. My cooking is African fusion: healthy, organic, and delicious. I cook with my collection of copper pots and offer an eclectic and comfortable dining ambiance, including a patio garden and Moroccan lanterns. I love experimenting with different spices, recipes, and healthy food and putting my own healthy twist on original recipes. Cook with me and taste Africa in style!
