Cooking Class - Paella Party on the Patio

Join Chef Jose Luis for a paella party on his restaurant's beautiful and shady patio!

There is something so satisfying about cooking a paella in the fresh air. It is, of course, the traditional manner in which paellas have been cooked for centuries. The class is designed to make paella experts of even the most novice cooks, though grads from this class come back time after time to hone their skills and pick up more secrets! We will create both traditional and non-traditional paellas. Students will enjoy tapas and sangria while they work. It’s a day of cooking, eating, and lively discussion.

I was born in Seville, Spain and raised in Barcelona. At the age of 20 I came to California, where I started cooking Spanish food for friends. When I was 30, I opened my first restaurant in Portola Valley. After 16 years, I moved the restaurant to Menlo Park, where it has a shady patio, a cozy bar de tapas with fireplace, a wood-paneled banquet room, and a wine library. I look forward to teaching you to prepare my country's cuisine in this beautiful space.
