Make your own gelato from scratch!
Just what is the difference between ice cream and gelato, anyway? Learn this and much more from Chef Simone, who will start by giving you some background on the history of the sweet treat, then show you how to make the Italian favorite yourself. You’ll get to make either strawberry sorbet, lemon sorbet, banana sorbet, chocolate, ricotta and vanilla, then take seven pints of it back to your freezer at home. By the end of class, you’ll have worked with Chef Simone (and, on occasion, his partner Chef Francesca) to unravel the mystery of creating gelato from scratch.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

This was a gift for my son's 21st birthday and his girlfriend. They love to cook together and they had a blast. Thanks for making his birthday weekend special.

Meet your chef
As a founding member of Santa Monica-based gelato shop, Chef Simone has spent time abroad to learn the secrets of making the signature Italian dessert. He only works with the highest-quality ingredients to create his flavors, using fresh milk, cream and fruits to extract the richest, most flavorful qualities of each. He believes that gelato should leave a lasting impression not just on the senses, but emotions, and should excite the palate through the experience of discovering new tastes.
