Learn the deep history and rich culinary traditions of Lowcountry fare in this hands-on cooking class with Chef Lamour. She'll share techniques and recipes from the region that will add new magic to the concept of "Southern comfort."
Begin by enjoying a spread of small bites, including pickled eggs and okra crusted in cornmeal. Then, you'll brew roasted pumpkin soup with bourbon clabbered cream and nutmeg before preparing your entrée of citrus-seasoned sorghum-braised duck. You'll also enjoy a variety of Lowcountry side dishes such as Carolina rice, Sea Island red beans and sautéed braising greens. Finish your Lowcountry feast with a classic Southern mixed berry cobbler.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.
