This three-course gourmet hands-on cooking class with Chef Charles is a festival of traditional Thai street food dishes that celebrate all the goodness of this popular cuisine.
Begin the class by preparing crispy egg rolls filled with your choice of shrimp or vegetables, then make authentic pad Thai featuring shrimp, vegetables or chicken served with rice noodles, tofu, peanuts, cilantro and lime juice. Finally, Chef Charles will teach you how to make sweet mango sticky rice with all the classic ingredients for a satisfying street-style dessert.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

The whole experience was incredible! From the moment we walked into his home, he made us feel welcome and as if we were old friends. We did the Thai class resulting in the best Thai food that I've found in the DC area. Chef Charles a top-notch educator, conversationalist, and chef, and I highly recommend him to anyone interested in an experience like this. I'll definitely be coming back for his other courses.

Chef Charles was very welcoming and taught us a lot about cooking in a very interactive experience. His recipe was delicious, and he walked us through each step of the process, letting us jump in as much or as little as we wanted. This was our first class, and we didn’t know what to expect; however, we had a great time and would highly recommend. Also, you make a good portion of food, so remember to pace yourself!

Going into this experience I had no idea what to expect. I’ve never used cozy meal before. I have to say this is one of the best dining experiences I’ve had and I’ve lived around the DC area for 20 years. Chef Charles home is beautifully finished and very cozy and welcoming. The chef himself is intelligent, entertaining and charming. He instantly made everybody feel welcome in his home. He prepared spring rolls, pad Thai and mango sticky rice. There was abundant opportunity to jump into the cooking process at any point. He took his time and thoroughly explained what he was doing at each step and allowed diners to taste how the flavors changed as he added ingredients. There were people of various experience levels at the dinner and all thoroughly enjoyed it. I will definitely book again with chef Charles. I should also mention that the food was plentiful. I’m a very big guy with a large appetite and I was unable to finish my meal! So you will not leave hungry!
Meet your chef
After earning a culinary degree from the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Charles went on to gain what has now accumulated into 20 years of professional culinary experience. For the past eight years, Chef Charles has donned the executive chef title in Washington D.C. He is also an adjunct professor of culinary arts at Montgomery College and volunteers for a nonprofit teaching culinary demonstrations for at-risk kids.
