Cooking Class - Wok Skills 101: Stir Frying Basics

Get ready to learn to walk the wok and make better stir fry with Chef Pao.

In this hands-on class with Chef Pao, you will learn how to prepare a flavor-forward four-course dinner menu using Asian-style ingredients and cooking techniques that take vegetables, meat, and aromatics from raw to crisp in seconds.

Chef Pao will begin by teaching you everything you need to know to master cooking in a wok. Then, you'll learn how to prepare dishes including fried egg rolls, your choice of chicken, seafood or vegetable stir fry over rice for your entrée, and a coconut cream cake for dessert.

Guests are welcome to provide wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Pao was a kind and patient teacher and was clearly excited to demonstrate his knowledge on sushi-making. The class was well-organized and ran smoothly (our class of 4 people finished in about 1.5 hrs). The food that we made tasted great! One thing that I realized was that the menu mentioned mochi and we did not receive it, but I was definitely still full from the food we made. Overall I had a great time and would definitely recommend this class anyone interested in sushi!

Chef Pao was absolutely fantastic— inviting, kind, fun and certainly knowledgeable! I bought this class for my girlfriend and I to attend as a Valentine’s Day gift and she was not disappointed (being the biggest sushi fanatic ever). I would definitely recommend any of Chef Pao’s services as our experience was fantastic. Thanks for the great time, Chef!

The class was informative, however, for the price I was expecting more. Also we were very surprised by the location of the class, no one in our group was anticipating it being at a house?? The website needs to make it more clear this class is at Chef Pao’s home, and not a facility or restaurant. Again for the price, was expecting more of an experience.

After graduating from Le Cordon Bleu in 2012, Chef Pao turned his focus to the beautiful and delicious preparation and presentation of sushi.
