Cooking Class - Intro to Flavor Building

Learn how to transform what would be flat, unexciting, one-dimensional dishes into flavor-packed gastronomic masterpieces.

In this hands-on class with Chef Dave, you will learn the basic skills and flavor-building cooking techniques needed to prepare a three-course dinner menu with depth and dimension that hits the high, medium, and low flavor notes.

Some of the recipes and dishes you can look forward to learning how to master in this class include an appetizer of tomatoes with wasabi mascarpone and pine nuts, seared cod with bacon and braised fennel and kale, and a richly decadent flourless chocolate torte with luscious homemade caramel for dessert.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

With years of experience as a lauded culinary instructor for both schools and nonprofits, Chef Dave was duly inducted into the Chef's Hall of Fame in 2015. His passion for all things gastronomy also led him to earn a master’s certificate in food history from the University of Adelaide, own and operate a fine dining restaurant, as well as a restaurant consulting firm specializing in menu development and chef training.
