Cooking Class - Japanese Seafood Skills

Discover the simple, time-honored traditions and techniques used to craft authentic, impressive Japanese seafood dishes.

In this hands-on class with Chef Ryan, you'll get a better understanding of Japanese cuisine, including the traditional techniques and artful balancing of flavors, as you learn to prepare a four-course Japanese meal.

You'll begin by learning how to bring out incredible flavors in a refreshing cucumber salad, and how to create the perfect snow crab roll. Chef Ryan will also help you add shioyak — Japanese for “salt-grilled” — to your repertoire as you master a technique that results in a beautiful seafood entree with an umami-rich crust and a crispy skin.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Ryan kindly greeted us at his apartment... Everything was all set up and ready to go! He patiently walked us through each recipe and was super informative about all the ingredients and preparation. My mom and I enjoyed every second. We loved the unique flavors that Chef Ryan used and how he incorporates his own self expression into his dishes. A true artist! I would highly recommend this class.

We did a 7-person team building sushi making class. The food was delicious and very filling - we were all stuffed until the next day! We had a great time chatting with Chef Ryan, who explained each dish, the ingredients, and how to make it like a pro.
