You don't need to hail from Japan or Korea to enjoy soul food from these countries.

In this hands-on class, Chef Lee not only introduces you to the food of his childhood, but also the stories and culture behind these dishes for an in-depth culinary experience.

Chef Lee's four-course menu will introduce you to comforting soul food many grow up eating in Japan and Korea. You'll begin with two classic soul food dishes hailing from Japan: poke buri and don buri. Then, it's onto Korea for simple and delicious kimbap and haemul pajeon — the official Korean name for a savory seafood and green onion pancake.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Japan: Poke Buri

With yellowfin tuna, avocado, nori, furikake and sushi rice

Japan: Don Buri

Panko-breaded fried pork chop, carrot, green onion, egg, dashi and rice

Korea: Haemul Pajeon

Pancakes with shrimp, squid, green mussels and green onions

Korea: Kimbap

Seaweed rice roll with spinach, pickled daikon, eggs, carrots and sushi rice

Chef Lee was great and the food was delicious! We really enjoyed learning how to make authentic Korean food and will definitely make it at home. I highly recommend this class!

Chef Lee is a very skilled teacher. We were able to do it at home with no problem. He also sent us home with some sushi vinegar and nori paper so that we wouldn’t have to go Grand Prairie to buy supplies before we began.

Chef Lee was an exceptional host. He Was very welcoming from the beginning and extremely knowledgeable about sushi and Japanese cuisine. I recommend anyone to take any or all of his classes so you too can interact in this pleasant and fun dining experience.

Chef Lee is an awesome teacher. He made us feel like a friend is just teaching us how to make sushi. I love the way he showed us the process and let us do hands on. Im inspired to make my sushi making skill improved more. Thank you Chef Lee it was a great experience.
