Master the art of classic Basque cuisine
Create a stunning four-course Basque meal packed with authentic flavors and ingredients. Chef Karen will guide you through delicious recipes that you can easily recreate at home.
The meal begins with mussels marinated in granache vinegar with fresh herbs and salty capers, followed by blistered padron peppers sprinkled with flaky sea salt and paired with homemade aioli. Learn how to cook a traditional Alubias Rojas del Goierri, a Basque red bean stew with Spanish chorizo and morcilla. Enjoy more rich, traditional flavors as you make braised Basque chicken and chorizo.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

I had always wanted to book a cooking class with my girlfriend and cozymeal exceeded expectations. It was an all around fantastic experience. From learning about different minerals in food and how important the right ingredients are to cooking a delicious food. Our class was with Chef Karen, who is a very colorful person and made the whole experience of preparing the food lots of fun. We will definitely try it again and book another cooking class. Fun, delicious, informative and entertaining are the four terms I would use to characterize Chef Karen's cooking class. We booked this French cooking class with a few friends and simply LOVED it! She is a great instructor who often combines techniques with funny stories which make the class so entertaining. If you are looking for a fun cooking class with a chef in Seattle, then Chef Karen is a great chef.

I have been a personal chef, caterer, and culinary instructor in the greater Seattle area for 19 years. In 1995, I started teaching classes to anyone who wants to learn and I love to teach. There are few things I like seeing more than the look in someones eyes when they "get it". I enjoy helping people learn the skills to take care of themselves, and loved ones, in the most simple and profound way with food. Food is an international language which everyone speaks.
