Reinvent date night at a cozy cooking class for two featuring a luscious fusion of Pacific Northwest and French cuisine. Chef Mat, one of Food and Wine’s “Best New Chefs,” will guide you through a dazzling four course menu.
The meal begins with gently steamed mussels laced with apple cider, cream, and bacon. For the next course, seared salmon is paired with melted onions and leeks, followed by roasted cornish game hens with rich wild mushrooms . Dessert is a creamy lavender panna cotta topped with fresh seasonal berries.

Soups have always mystified me. Mine always ending up either tasting like salt or like water. Chef Mat easily demystified them for me and I look forward to creating simple delicious meals at home with fresh herbs and homegrown vegetables. Delicious and fun. Highly recommended!
After culinary school I moved to New Orleans where I worked in some of the city's finest kitchens. After receiving Food and Wine Magazine's 'Best New Chef' award in 2004, I moved to the Bay Area to work for top restaurants and then for the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy as the food and beverage manager. A few years later, I moved back to Seattle and am now working on my own. I am passionate about all things food and love cooking, anytime day or night.
