During this class, you’ll discover how to make fried chicken with hot pepper vinegar sauce. But it doesn’t stop there. You’ll also put together a South feast. You’ll make sides that will complement the friend chicken like glazed Sweet Potatoes , Southern style cornbread with honey butter, Long cooked mixed greens with bacon and finish off with sweet Classic Banana Pudding.

I love friend chicken (it has always been my comfort food) and was looking for a recipe to make it myself when I found Cozymeal's fried chicken cooking class with Chef John in Santa Monica. The class was fun, very educational and the fried chicken in the end was the best I have had so far. This was my first ever cooking class and I'm now a huge fan. I'm already looking to book my next cooking class but this time, another dish :)

Meet your chef
As a youngster, Chef John would skip school to make tomato soup and grilled cheese from scratch at home. Decades later, his passion for fresh food is just as strong as it ever was. He headed to college where he befriended and learned from chefs from the Caribbean, Southwest, Mexico and the South. Today, he travels to the Southwest and the South to discover new and exciting cooking techniques.
