Cooking Class - Scratch-Made Holiday Tamales

Get into the holiday spirit with festive from-scratch tamales.

Tamales are a symbol of the holiday in many cultures, and the tradition of making them runs deep in families. Discover the art of making your very own tamales, from homemade masa spread in corn husks to mouthwatering fillings and sauces. As you simmer green mole and pasilla sauce to fill your shredded pork and vegetarian tamales, you can sip on champurrado, also known as Mexican hot chocolate.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

This class is suitable for ages 14+ with an adult present. Children under 17 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Class price is per person.

I thought the class was fine. The food we cooked was tasty but it did seem like we were just putting ingredients together in a rushed format. I thought there should have been more of an opportunity to make the raviolis, everything seemed rushed and a bit hectic. Also I wish we could have had Togo boxes but all we got was a ziplock and there was so much food waste. Also, we did not get the recipes and thought that would have been nice. Overall the instructor was swift but definitely seemed a bit like she was racing against the clock to get through everything.

Spicy in the best of ways! Very quick-witted and you can tell she has a lot of experience. It was a fun interactive group experience for our work team. Will definitely be back to get yelled at some more.
