Combine all of the best from-scratch desserts like streusel and pie into one decadent pastry.
In this unique, hands-on course, you'll learn a recipe for a brown butter and walnut pot pie that embodies the taste of richness. With Chef Kia's expert guidance, you'll get to learn how to make staple dessert components from scratch for a true, from-start-to-finish baking experience.
First, you'll learn the necessary steps for creating delicious crème fraîche. Next, whip up a stellar pecan pie filling, perfectly moist brown butter cake, and creamy vanilla ice cream — all made from scratch. In the end, you'll have a decadent deep-dish brown butter and walnut pot pie!
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Kia's pastry class was perfect for my 15-year-old and me. I'm not good in the kitchen so my daughter was able to get hands-on experience with what turned out to be an excellent recipe for us to create together. Chef Kia made accommodations for an ingredient aversion of my daughter's (cinnamon), which we appreciated. Chef Kia was well-prepared, organized, and knowledgeable about each cooking or baking technique we used. She is also very personable so we felt comfortable asking questions along the way. Great experience with Cozymeal and we highly recommend Chef Kia!

Chef Kia is passionate about sharing her love of food with others. She shared a lot of helpful tips and techniques with us and we had a wonderful time. If you are in the NYC/NJ area, I highly recommend taking her classes and hiring her as your next private chef!
A New York City native, Chef Kia began her culinary career working with pastries at a true NYC hotspot. After honing her pastry skills for a few years, she decided to become a line cook to round out and perfect her culinary capabilities, and she quickly worked her way up to lead cook. Her favorite cuisine is French, with a creative Asian fusion, but she’s a fan of all good flavors and interesting culinary techniques.
