What You’ll Do

Learn how to create some of Japan's most beloved dishes in this hands-on cooking class.

Embark on a culinary journey to Japan with this robust menu curated by Chef Misun for this technique-focused class, where you'll learn how to roll and shape your way to sushi perfection.

First, prepare a warm miso soup with tofu and scallions as well as a fresh Japanese garden salad. Next, Chef Misun will teach you the basics of preparing four varieties of sushi — including maki rolls and nigiri — using sashimi grade seafood and vegetables, seaweed and sushi rice. For a sweet ending, whip up yuzu-infused créme brûlée.

Guests are welcome to provide wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

This was a really great experience. Chef Misun was an excellent sushi chef and teacher. She was even very patient with our five-year-old, who loved the whole experience. I didn’t know how I’d like having someone come in to cook in our home, but it was a really relaxing night with great food, and now we feel pretty confident attempting to make sushi on our own.
