Cooking Class - Japanese Dumplings and More

Learn the steps and techniques to make from-scratch Japanese gyoza dumplings.

In this interactive cooking class, Chef Shinya will guide you through a hands-on tutorial on making a handful of favorite Japanese dishes, with dumplings as the star of the show.

Discover how to make traditional Japanese gyoza dumplings completely from scratch, including whipping up the savory fillings such as pork and aromatic vegetables and wrapping them up in the thin dough before pan-frying to crispy perfection. You will also prepare accompanying dipping sauces, a savory miso soup and a Japanese rice dish with dashi, sake and seasonal vegetables.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

This experience was out of this world! What an amazing experience! Chef Shinya is such a pleasant person, he explains things so well and and shares his abundant knowledge in all aspects, he is like a culinary encyclopedia. If I could give this experience a 10 I would! My husband and I look forward to booking more experiences in the future and hope to be invited to a private event some time as well! Such a fun and unique experience, it's an activity a learning experience and you get to have dinner at the end!

Chef Shinya has a wealth of knowledge and a passion for food. My advice is to bring a pen, we received numerous recommendations as conversations blossomed into many interesting topics. I would highly recommend any of his classes given my and my husband’s experience.

Chef Shinya had a great way of really showcasing and teaching the techniques he wanted us to learn. Some extra basic cooking and hard earned knowledge he was able to teach us was not listed under the class but I feel will help better and elevate my cooking skills! The recipe he followed was also very easy to read, understand and included a lot of things that most people regularly keep around the house aside from fillings. He had good recommendations on where to locally source the ingredients he used and also advice on storing and using left overs so that the meal would not be wasteful. Just a joy to learn from!
