Cooking Class - The Five Tastes of Thailand

Join Chef Eric on a remarkable and exotic exploration of flavors hailing from Southeast Asia.

In this hands-on class with Chef Eric, you'll learn how to prepare a four-course Thai menu featuring both familiar and exotic flavors and ingredients. Chef Eric will also explain the five tastes of Thai cuisine: salty, sweet, spicy, sour, and savory.

You'll begin with a Bangkok salad dressed up for a night on the town with a miso vinaigrette. Then, you'll work your way through the preparation of a succulent, creamy Thai shrimp curry and a traditional pad Thai with tamarind before ending with a mango rice pudding for dessert.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

I had the pleasure of attending Chef Eric's cooking class, performed in the very large and bright Cornucopia kitchen and presentation facility. Chef Eric is very professional and knowledgable, but also down to earth and fun to talk to. His Cajun Catfish Tenders with Spicy Remoulade was very tasty, and the Thai Shrimp Curry had a wonderful balance of interesting flavors (coconut milk and chili paste!) and was very tasty, light and smooth. The Chicken and Andouille Sausage Gumbo was a hearty dish with a little kick, but not overpowering. Great comfort food. All in all, everything was quite good, it is a very nice facility for groups both large and small, and Chef Eric made it a relaxing and fun experience. Highly recommend.
