Level up your team’s sushi-making skills in this fun team building activity.
Gather your team for an exciting team building activity as they learn how to prepare sushi. They will enjoy freshly made vegetable potstickers as Chef Pao reveals tips behind the art of sushi. Your team will be split into groups to learn about the fresh ingredients and pairings for the most delicious rolls. After crafting the beloved California roll and spicy tuna roll, they will create their own unique sushi roll for a fun team building exercise.

After graduating from Le Cordon Bleu in 2012, Chef Pao turned his focus to the beautiful and delicious preparation and presentation of sushi. Previously, he worked as a sushi chef at a restaurant in St. Paul where he perfected his sushi-making techniques. Now, Chef Pao runs his own catering business for events and gatherings, and teaches Asian cooking classes with a focus on skill and high-quality ingredients.

This class was such a fun experience! We were not aware that the class would be held at his home but once we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and got to cooking. We learned a ton and Pao was such a great teacher. The food turned out delicious and now my wife and I know how to correctly make them!

My husband and I had a great time making a few different sushi rolls with Chef Pao. I honestly had never tried making sushi before, because I had assumed it was too complicated. Chef Pao made the whole process very approachable, and we were really pleased with the outcomes of our first ever sushi attempts. The whole class was very organized, the kitchen was super clean, and Chef Pao had a calm and encouraging personality that made the experience fun instead of stressful. Highly recommend!

Pa was so kind, knowledgeable and helpful every step of the way! My husband and I really enjoyed the private lesson atmosphere and the variety of rolls. The emphasis of the class was on assembling and rolling, with limited opportunities to slice/cut. This was 100% fine with me (I don’t like using knives much) but if someone is looking to learn knife skills for sushi, this may not be what they’re looking for.
We wrapped up the lesson with getting to eat our hard work along with a lovely salad and mochi ice cream dessert prepared by Pa. Everything about this experience was so chill but fun and I’d highly recommend Pa to any novice.

My son and I had a wonderful time with Chef Pao. He was fun and so knowledgeable about the origins of sushi, we got a little education along with the food. Chef Pao was willing to accommodate me & my girlfriend by switching his typical menu up to include lessons on making Onigiri along with his staple Sushi. We pre-tipped him for his flexibility. He carefully went through how to prepare and where to procure all ingredients. Overall a fun night out, & now we have some amazing skills we can bring back home to our own kitchen.

I was under the impression that sushi was the entire dish. Overall this was an amazing experience, perfect date night and birthday gift for my husband and I! We cooked potstickers with Chef Pao. Over all it was good experience. It was fun. It is clear he is passionate about cooking and talented in putting together the prep. The class offered the potstickers, chicken fried rice. Not sure if we did the secret sauce. We were also looking forward to the Mochi Ice Cream. It wasn't served...we are also Ice Cream Lovers and would have loved to try something new.

Chef Pao was very informative and we learned so much about *Maki making (and that sushi only means vinegar rice). We were always under the impression that sushi (maki) was hard to make and something the average person couldn’t do, but chef Pao proved this so wrong! We will definitely be trying this again at home. Was such a fun date night!
Would recommend chef Pao start with the salad appetizer at the beginning while he is doing his first intro into sushi / how to make the rice. I showed up hungry and having to make each roll first before eating was taunting! Also, some light music in the background would be a great addition to ease the mood.

We booked a private class with Chef Pao to learn to make sushi. There were five of us in attendance: myself, husband, and three young adult children. It was so much fun! Most of us had never made sushi before and left feeling like we are ready and can't wait to tackle it on our own. The private, intimate setting was ideal, his instruction was very clear, and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend this class with Chef Pao.

I highly recommend Chef Pao and his classes! His teaching made sushi-making easy and fun, and he shared his favorite local spots for purchasing sushi-grade fish and supplies. My granddaughter and I attended Pao’s Sushi class. He is a cheerful, fun and excellent at teaching his skill. We made 3 types of rolls and then had the enjoyment of eating what we made along with a lovely salad he made for us and some Mochi ice cream for desert. I always thought making Sushi was a difficult task but with Paos instruction we were able to make very nice rolls first time. Great class.

What a fun & unique experience with Chef Pao! He invited us into his lovely home & taught us all about sushi & roll making. Loved all 3 of our rolls & enjoyed some delicious appetizers. A great idea for a date night or a fun night with a friend!

Chef Pao was a kind and patient teacher and was clearly excited to demonstrate his knowledge on sushi-making. The class was well-organized and ran smoothly (our class of 4 people finished in about 1.5 hrs). The food that we made tasted great! One thing that I realized was that the menu mentioned mochi and we did not receive it, but I was definitely still full from the food we made. Overall I had a great time and would definitely recommend this class anyone interested in sushi!

Chef Pao was absolutely fantastic— inviting, kind, fun and certainly knowledgeable! I bought this class for my girlfriend and I to attend as a Valentine’s Day gift and she was not disappointed (being the biggest sushi fanatic ever). This was so great. I took my husband, son and DiL, we all learned how to make sushi and where to buy the freshest ingredients. The food was delicious! We went really hungry and left very full. Also, he worked around my hubby's allergies. Thanks again Chef

Chef Pao's cooking is exceptional and entertaining. He enjoys teaching about culinary art techniques and cooking methods, so he won't disappoint if you have the chance to see him cook and learn from him.
As with the dishes he creates, there is no disappointment. He is passionate and it shows through the flavor he extracts from simple ingredients.
All in all, he can always bring a unique twist on classic dishes, and that is probably what I enjoy the most about his cooking style.

I think we were a little disappointed, paid for 2 hour class - but it was probably 20 minutes of instruction and our sushi does not look like the photos listed in the description.

The sushi was good and Chef Pao was very nice! I was expecting a longer class where we could learn and participate in making more of the food, the class was really just rolling the already prepared ingredients.

Chef Pao callled 90 minutes before our guests arrived to tell us he wasn’t coming. His excuse was that his flight arrived the morning of our event, not the night prior. He didn’t have the courtesy to tell us until the last minute. We needed up ordering takeout. It was a total let down. I will not use cozymeal again and I wouldn’t trust that chef pao will be there for your event.

The class was informative, however, for the price I was expecting more. Also we were very surprised by the location of the class, no one in our group was anticipating it being at a house?? The website needs to make it more clear this class is at Chef Pao’s home, and not a facility or restaurant. Again for the price, was expecting more of an experience.
