Team Building Activity - Yasashi Sushi

What You'll Do

Join Chef Matt for an introduction to sushi making in this interactive team building experience.

In this hands-on team building class with Chef Matt, you and your team will learn how to prepare a three-course Japanese menu showcasing three different types of traditional sushi rolls.

After beginning with a traditional, full-flavored Japanese seaweed salad, you and your team will work together to prepare either sweet or spicy tuna rolls, Boston rolls with cooked shrimp, and Philadelphia rolls with smoked salmon. For dessert, Chef Matt will teach you and your colleagues the secrets to preparing an incredibly moist and beautifully vibrant Japanese green tea sponge cake.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

His background includes being a sous chef for James Beard nominee Chef Jenn Louis, being a top 10 finalist in the Food Network's "Christmas Cookie Challenge" and running his own catering bakery business. Chef Matt is a creative chef who enjoys the process of teaching and training others.

This was for a 50th anniversary dinner. Matt was a joy to have in our home. His food had layers of flavor. The food was fantastic. Each dish had something extra from Matt's stash of seasonings. To top it off, dessert came from a relative's recipe (but of course with Matt's own spin) which just shows you how good Matt is and how relatable he is. This was the exact experience we were looking for. Thank you many times over!
