Easy as pie takes on a whole new meaning in this pie and tart workshop.
In this hands-on class with Chef Joe, not only will you learn how to handcraft beautiful pies and tarts, you'll also delve into custards, meringue, and from-scratch crusts.
You will begin by creating the perfect blueberry pie packed with plump berries and held by a flaky, buttery crust to contain the jewel-like bounty of blueberries. Then, you will learn how to whip up a blowy, airy meringue and combine it with a jolt of zesty lemon flavor. Lastly, you will indulge in a gooey, crunchy caramel nut tart.
Guests are welcome to provide wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

I have taken a macaron and a knife skills class from Chef Joe, and I learned so much at both! Joe is a great teacher--he balances humor with knowledge, skill, and experience. I use what Joe taught us every day as I cook for my family. On top of his classes, I've tried many of Joe's products and food and I have never once been disappointed. I'm looking forward to the next time I am able to take a class from Chef Joe!

Joe is personable and knowledgeable. He uses humor while teaching, which adds extra fun to his class. Joe is a patient teacher. I’ve successfully practiced his cooking/baking techniques at home. I’ll definitely attend another class with Joe the Baker!!!

Chef Travels to You
Chef Joe is a former U.S. Army soldier from Montana who went on to graduate from L’Academie de Cuisine culinary school. Throughout his culinary career, Chef Joe has worked as a Le Cordon Bleu instructor as well as in the kitchens of prestigious hotels and restaurants around the world. He has even made appearances on the Food Network! He now owns his own business handcrafting pastries, catering, and teaching baking classes.
