Known as a fairly labor-intensive food, tamales always prove they are worth the effort. The key to making authentic tamales is getting everyone involved. Tamale making is not meant to be a solo act, but a group endeavor that you can devour while celebrating the joy of working together.
Begin with rompope, the traditional drink for tamales, before diving into the hard work of forming savory pork and rajas with cheese tamales. End with Mexican drinking chocolate and let the memories you created with family and friends soak in.
