What You'll Do

Explore the flavors of Japan through ramen, spring rolls, hot pot and a sweet treat.

Discover the comforting flavors of Japanese cooking in this hands-on cooking class as you prepare a flavorful four-course menu.

Chef Washington will teach you the art of traditional Japanese ramen, made with springy wheat-based noodles in a chicken broth with soy and oyster sauce, along with ingredients like sake, bonito flakes, kombu and other staples of Japanese cuisine. Next, you’ll prepare a Japanese hot pot filled with shrimp, chicken, steak, pork, mushrooms and bok choy. Before the class comes to an end, you’ll make crispy wheat-based spring rolls with seasoned pork and vegetables, followed by delicate vanilla jelly. Once everything is ready, sit down and enjoy the meal together.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

We loved the Moroccan cooking class with Chef Washington. Cooking a few things we had never cooked before. Chef had all of the ingredients prepared so the class would flowed well and quick, allowing enough time to sit and enjoy what we cooked while we chatted with the others in the class and Chef. Would recommend 100%!

We made a 5-course sushi-inspired meal! It included rolling sushi (both vegetarian friendly and premium seafood), making a delicious udon noodle dish, rolling and frying spring rolls, making prawns, and preparing a scrumptious dessert. Our chef was down to earth and encouraged us to be present in the process. He truly instilled within us a belief that we could leave his house and cook our own meals confidently (which we've done). It was truly like cooking with a friend! We vibed to music, talked about life, and made super enjoyable food. This was an experience like no other and I cannot wait to do it again! Thanks, Chef Washington!
