What You’ll Do

Master authentic sushi preparation from seasoned rice to expert knife work.

Immerse yourself in the art of Japanese sushi preparation in this detailed hands-on cooking class with Chef James. You'll develop essential skills for creating authentic sushi at home, from properly vinegared rice to precise knife techniques.

Start with traditional miso soup, then learn the critical steps for cooking and seasoning perfect sushi rice. Develop knife skills as you slice premium fish including tuna, salmon, yellowtail, scallops and roe. Practice rolling tight maki and forming elegant nigiri by hand. Prepare traditional condiments like ponzu, pickled ginger and fresh wasabi. End with coconut-pressed rice paired with refreshing yuzu sorbet.
