This class was an absolutely horrible experience, and I will be reaching out to Cozymeal for a refund. The class was held at Sur La Table in Raleigh (had I know that, I would have signed up with that retailer directly), and the instructor, Mary Beth, was nasty from the moment we walked into the room. There were 14 students in the demonstration room, broken into groups of four (one group had two, with two no-shows). Mary Beth chose one or two groups to favor, and others to ignore. It was so bad that during the break, several attendees were discussing her attitude. She embarrassed one student when that person asked a question that Mary Beth had addressed earlier, and belittled her. She ignored my son and myself completely. I point blank asked for help at one point, and she told me to “figure it out.” She helped other groups improve their technique, and would walk by our group completely. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a cooking or baking class in my life. Horrible, horrible experience.

Hi Chef Megan - I dont believe we worked directly with you.....a couple of items for the low review. The head chef wasnt welcoming and very much felt like "welcome to bootcamp" with orders being yelled out and not the most friendly...we began the cooking experience at 7 pm and didnt end up eating until 9:45. Many of the preparation aspects were poorly timed and lead my wife and I being extremely hungry come time to eat. This was a beginner class and I hardly believe that this was a welcoming experience for new chefs looking to get excited about cooking given the time for preparation and the environment the head chef made for us. Needless to say, I will not be scheduling another meal with Cozymeal. There are many alternatives locally that have far greater reviews let alone have an earlier start for a more normal dining time. The food was fine however the environment created wasnt great.

The long and short is this class fell extremely short of expectations. The chef had never prepared Asian cuisine before, he had no idea what he was doing and he didn’t show or explain what he was doing so we spent most of the class asking what we were supposed to be doing. The helpers also provided little to no support and typically provided conflicting guidance. Please see the review posted via the QR code for details
