Southern food is comfort food, and in this class you’ll learn how to whip up the most comforting dishes from south of the Mason-Dixon line. Chef Ben has been cooking for over twelve years and is ready to pass his knowledge onto you.
You’ll start off with the caviar of the South-pimento cheese spread with homemade crackers. Next, Chef Ben will teach you how to make a Cajun-inspired appetizer, shrimp boudin fritters paired with creole mustard. For your third course, you will learn to make soul food style smothered turkey wings with Savannah red rice. Prefer your poultry crispy? Chef Ben will also teach you how to make the perfect fried chicken with classic collards and cornbread on the side. For dessert, traditional banana pudding closes out this evening of stick-to-your-ribs Southern goodness.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class. If your class is under the minimum, Chef Ben is available to host for an upgrade fee equal to 35% of the per person rate.
