Cooking Class - The Big Beef Burrito

Learn to make this tasty Mexican classic with fresh steak

Chef Dave runs a family operation that focuses on healthy food. This protein-packed burrito is made with lean steak and fresh ingredients. Students work at individually-equipped work stations as they grill and chop steak and create all components of this meal (with the exception of the Ancho Salsa). Throughout the class you will watch and follow Chef Dave with the help of specially mounted ceiling mirrors.

In this two and a half hour class, students will make sweet sopapilla chips dusted with cinnamon and a generous beef burrito with chopped steak, accompanied by Chef's special smokey 'Ancho Salsa' sauce.

Chef Dave was an executive chef at Marriot for many years and clearly knows how to cook. He is kind and patient and the class is well organized with neat workstations for each student and overhead mirrors to more easily follow the demonstrations. Twelve years ago Chef Dave won an award for his ‘Strawberry Taco’ and it is well deserved. This simple dessert is simply delicious, light and sweet with the fresh taste of cinnamon and fresh strawberry. Yum. Chef Dave’s wife is the CEO of his company and his daughter acts as his assistant “We just said Dad if you love to teach, just do it” she tells me sweetly.
