I have had a very varied life. I started out as a professional motorcyclist. Then worked as a journalist in Africa and Latin America for over 20 years reporting for the BBC, Guardian (England), New York Times, and AP (among others). I have visited more than 50 countries through my work with the Economic Policy Institute. I started doing cooking classes and catering 6 years ago and now supply foods to co-ops and food companies including Tacoma Park and Relay.
