What You'll Do

Master The Puff Pastry-Making Sophistication With Practiced Ease

In this professional chef-led cooking class you'll learn the basics of making taste-rich and flaky puff pastries to the perfect melt-in-the-mouth texture. Our experienced instructor will guide you in layering butter and dough, and other simple techniques to achieve the perfect puff dough. You'll then learn to craft various treats like Vanilla-custard & Strawberry-Rhubarb filled mille-feuille pastries. To end the class, you'll make creamy ricotta with fresh asparagus and even shape delicious palmiers that taste absolutely amazing!

Tea, coffee and water will be provided. Guests are welcome to bring non-alcoholic beverages.

This class is suitable for ages 14+ with an adult present. Children under 17 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Class price is per person.

In 2004, Chef Paula followed her passion for food at L’Academie de Cuisine, graduating at the top of her class in 2005. Beginning as a Sous Chef in the Executive Dining Room at the Washington Post, Chef Paula went on to spend a decade crafting regional recipes before advancing to Executive Chef. After a brief hiatus, her love for food drew her back to teaching, where she now shares her enthusiasm for cooking with each of her students.

Veggie meal with chef Patrick (not Paula). a great experience. only feedback is trying to use less plastic (small containers for ingredients and spoons for tasting).

This was a knife skills class so we did not cook anything. We learned to cut using a big knife.
