Cooking Class - 5-Day Foodie Fun Kids: International Favorites - Jacksonville

What You’ll Do

Young chefs discover global flavors across five days of culinary adventures

This hands-on cooking series designed for ages 7-11 introduces aspiring cooks to tastes and techniques from around the world. From filling and folding Asian-style steamed pork buns to breading and baking Austria’s famed schnitzel, students explore classic flavors while strengthening fundamental kitchen skills, building confidence and practicing teamwork. Guided by a chef instructor, kids work together to create an international menu, focusing on different methods each day. At the end of the summer cooking classes, students will take home a printed menu and graduation certificate to celebrate their new skills.

Classes typically run for two to two and a half hours, unless specified otherwise. Group work is a key component; kids can expect to collaborate with four other students. The class involves standing, cooking and active participation throughout. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required and long hair should be securely tied back for safety. Please note that these are drop-off classes. Parents do not stay during the classes.

The facility was great and so was our instructor. Taking a star off because we thought we would get to make classic croissants but it was only morning buns (cinnamon rolls) and pan au chocolait. It was still a great experience.

Individual versus sharing a cooking station would be better. Having a small separate dining area or at least tables and chairs to enjoy our cooked meal would be great. Dessert should not be served/completed until meal is done and consumed. Overall, fun.
