Cooking Class - 4-Day Foodie Fun Kids: Bakeshop Favorites

What You’ll Do

Four days of baking fun await young cooks ready to get creative in the kitchen

In this 4-day, hands-on cooking series, aspiring chefs will be immersed in the world of baking. Designed for ages 7-11, summer cooking classes meet kids at their level to build confidence in the kitchen as they learn to make a variety of fun, kid-friendly bakes. They will work together with classmates to prepare creative crêpes, knead dough by hand, bake and decorate cakes and more. Along with essential baking techniques, participants will learn basic food preparation and kitchen safety skills, earning a graduation certificate to celebrate their new culinary expertise.

Classes typically run for two to two and a half hours, unless specified otherwise. Group work is a key component; kids can expect to collaborate with four other students. The class involves standing, cooking and active participation throughout. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required and long hair should be securely tied back for safety. Please note that these are drop-off classes. Parents do not stay during the classes.

Emily was excellent chef and guide that kept us on track while providing expert knowledge and some humor. Both the food and the experience were great!

Unfortunately, all the chicken was undercooked. Some of us ate a little before realizing it was still raw, which raised concerns about food poisoning. On a positive note, the salad was excellent, and the biscuits were just as good.

Some chicken pieces had feathers, and the chicken was still Raw after being taken out of the oven. Part of the sauketash was frozen when put into the skillet. I think the overall organization could improve.
