Cooking Class - The Basics of Sushi

Make your very own sushi spread, utilizing traditional tools and techniques for a classic meal.

Become a Japanese sushi master (or close to it) after getting hands-on experience making a sushi menu from scratch. Armed with an array of fresh vegetables and a big bowl of sticky rice, you'll roll out a variety of sushi rolls using a bamboo mat. You'll also create a savory dipping sauce to pair with the freshly made rolls.

Tea, coffee and water will be provided. Guests are welcome to bring non-alcoholic beverages.

This class is suitable for ages 14+ with an adult present. Children under 17 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Class price is per person.

This was so fun for our whole family! Jeff was incredible to learn from and talk to and the meals we made were unique and delicious. Would love to do this again!

I was expecting a more hands on experience cooking each of the dishes. With the cost of a two hour class, was looking for more active learning on proper cutting technics etc. One of the dishes had fried shrimp after being in the oil for a short period the batter was pail and shrimp did not look to be fully cooked. I was expecting a good practice of checking temps would also be incorporated. When I asked the chef what temp the shrimp should reach they stated 165. The proper internal temp for seafood is actually 145, we choose just not to eat the shrimp. The gumbo I thought was going to be more authentic with an andouille sausage, however the flavor profile was more of ring bologna. Was our first cooking class and was a pricey disappointment.
