What You’ll Do

Join Chef Melissa on a nostalgic culinary tour through her hometown of Taiwan.

This hands-on cooking class with Chef Melissa will transport you to the bustling street markets of Taiwan. She'll share how the island's diverse culture has influenced her cooking style as you prepare some of the most-loved dishes from her youth.

Begin by simmering a simple, comforting egg drop soup made from Chef Melissa's own homemade stock. Then, you'll stir-fry fiery kung pao chicken along with tender bok choy to serve over fragrant steamed rice. Finally, bake an iconic street food dessert: Taiwanese sponge cake flavored with honey butter.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

We had a wonderful time cooking, talking and of course eating with Chef Melissa. This was such a fun experience and Chef Melissa is such a wonderful host and chef. Everything for meal was well planned and Chef was filled with jokes, energy, and some wonderful stories. She made our experience great! This was my wife and my first time cooking with Melissa and cozy meal and I don’t regret the experience at all. I’m excited to try to cook this meal on my own. Thank you so much Chef Melissa for a fun interactive time.

Melissa was a great hostess. She was very attentive to my texts and Q's before the class. She contacted us a week before to let us know there was an opening, as we had booked another class several months out. Then she communicated her vaccination status and policies about vaccination which we were really confused about since it's 2026. My husband developed a cold and we were considering canceling 2 days before, but the cozy meals refund policy was 48 hours so we attended the class. There was one other couple. We learned how to make sushi rolls using sushi rice, fish, avocado, cucumber, caviar, and spices. Melissa prepared a gluten-free dairy-free dessert for us, and we played a spice game and had a gratitude session. It was an enjoyable couple's evening experience.
