Journey across the Seven Seas and explore the diversity of seafood with Chef John.
Highlight the succulent flavors of the sea with vibrant seasonings and spices with the help of Chef John. In this hands-on cooking class, he teaches you how to prepare different types of seafood and pair them with a variety of bold sauces.
Begin class by searing shrimp skewers to be complimented by a tropical mango coulis. Then, cook your blackened scallops in smother them in red pepper sauce. For the main, prepare a buttery béarnaise and herbaceous gremolata to accompany your almond-crusted salmon. Finally, indulge in a light and crispy dessert of fried pita chips and strawberry dipping sauce.
Guests are welcome to provide wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef John showed how to properly cut a red onion and talked about the versatility of onions. He used it to make a homemade onion vinaigrette dressing that could be used in a number of different ways from a dressing to a marinade for chicken. He is a very knowledgeable chef where you will definitely walk away with more knowledge than you came in with.
Meet your chef
From Italian food and artisanal bread to Asian fare and breakfast favorites, Chef John has an eclectic culinary background that encompasses just about every cuisine type. He currently works as a baker and has catered many weddings and special events in his past. While receiving his education at Le Cordon Bleu, Chef John's high GPA gave him the opportunity to work as a student ambassador. He is available to travel to clients in the St. Louis area.
