Create your favorite Indian takeout dishes with Chef Shailini.

Make your Indian restaurant favorites in this hands-on cooking class under the guidance of Chef Shailini. This ancient and sophisticated cuisine, redolent with fragrant aromas and warm, healing spices, is incredibly delicious as well.

Learn how to prepare seven recipes completely from scratch, including chicken tikka masala — a stew of chicken, yogurt and spices, a cauliflower, potato and pea curry, saffron basmati rice with nuts, a cucumber and yogurt raita, and more. End with kheer, a sweet rice pudding with cardamom, raisins, nuts, fruit and coconut shavings.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

We had such an incredible experience with Chef Shailini from start to finish! She was extremely accommodating and was very flexible working with me to schedule a time on the day of my wife's birthday. The food was spectacular as was her instruction. We will be using her recipes for years to come. She shared many wonderful and engaging stories about her experience as a chef and about the origins of Indian cuisine. We would highly recommend her class!

Chef Shailini was born in Nepal, and with her father being a well-known diplomat, the family lived all over the world. A life long educator, Chef Shailini taught at both Boston University and Northeastern University earlier in her career, and while she enjoyed that a great deal, she is currently living her true passion at several well-known Boston institutions teaching people how to cook food that is both nutritious and delicious.
