Make your Indian restaurant favorites in this hands-on cooking class under the guidance of Chef Shailini. This ancient and sophisticated cuisine, redolent with fragrant aromas and warm, healing spices, is incredibly delicious as well.

Learn how to prepare seven recipes completely from scratch, including chicken tikka masala — a stew of chicken, yogurt and spices, a cauliflower, potato and pea curry, saffron basmati rice with nuts, a cucumber and yogurt raita, and more. End with kheer, a sweet rice pudding with cardamom, raisins, nuts and coconut milk.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

What a fantastic class with Chef Shailini! We learned to make some of my favorite Indian dishes as well as some new favorites. I know that rice pudding will be on regular rotation for dessert in our house for a long time to come. Overall, the class was action packed, informative and lots of fun. I will definitely be checking out Chef Shailini's other classes and hope to be back soon.

Chef Shailini was born in Nepal, and with her father being a well-known diplomat, the family lived all over the world. A life long educator, Chef Shailini taught at both Boston University and Northeastern University earlier in her career, and while she enjoyed that a great deal, she is currently living her true passion at several well-known Boston institutions teaching people how to cook food that is both nutritious and delicious. Chef Shailini also does a great deal of volunteer work.
