Make your Indian restaurant favorites in this hands-on cooking class under the guidance of Chef Shailini. This ancient and sophisticated cuisine, redolent with fragrant aromas and warm, healing spices, is incredibly delicious as well.

Learn how to prepare seven recipes completely from scratch, including chicken tikka masala — a stew of chicken, yogurt and spices, a cauliflower, potato and pea curry, saffron basmati rice with nuts, a cucumber and yogurt raita, and more. End with kheer, a sweet rice pudding with cardamom, raisins, nuts, fruit and coconut shavings.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Shailini was born in Nepal, and with her father being a well-known diplomat, the family lived all over the world. A life long educator, Chef Shailini taught at both Boston University and Northeastern University earlier in her career, and while she enjoyed that a great deal, she is currently living her true passion at several well-known Boston institutions teaching people how to cook food that is both nutritious and delicious. Chef Shailini also does a great deal of volunteer work.

Chef Shailini was wonderful and went above and beyond to make our night special! Everything was delicious and I can’t wait to impress all my friends by making them some delicious chicken tikka masala! This experience was a surprise birthday present for my dad and it was a BIG hit—what a blast! Will definitely do some more in the future!

Shailini was wonderful! She created such a welcoming atmosphere and was incredibly kind and helpful. The food was amazing of course, and her decades of experience really show. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend to anyone! We plan to check out some of her other classes in the future as well!

I really enjoyed the Indian cuisine we cooked in the class. It was very good and diverse selection of food to cook. Everyone got a chance to contribute to the cooking effort and the Chef made it an easy going and enjoyable experience. I would recommend checking it out! I want to go back and learn how to cook Thai food now!
