Learn to prepare healthier versions of the recipes we love!
In this comfort foods cooking class, Chef Jen will teach you to prepare a healthier and lighter version of a favorite comfort food, chicken pot pie. Replacing butter crust with phyllo dough and heavy cream with Mexican crema, you'll see that you don't need super rich ingredients to make a luxurious and delicious meal. You'll also learn to prepare a simple but satisfying salad and a healthier take on berry pie with whipped cream.
The Chef welcomes guests to bring their own wine or beer to the class.

Chef Jen is an incredibly competent, confident, and patient chef and teacher, and teaches her classes in an absolutely beautiful space. I loved her light takes on comfort foods -- the pot pie with phyllo was light but still full of flavor, and her fruit dessert was the most simple, perfect combination of creaminess, fresh fruit, and sugar.

An awesome date-night experience. Chef Jen did an outstanding job of hosting a relaxing Friday evening diner date for my wife and me. The menu consisted of Crabcakes served with a green bean frisée salad, New York steak with a cabernet mushroom sauce, chipotle creamed corn and finally whipped potatoes. The meal was delicious. We will definitely look into booking another event in the future. -Henry
Meet your chef
Chef Jen, who has been in the kitchen for over 17 years, graduated from the Los Angeles Culinary Institute, and has worked at popular L.A. area restaurants such as The Palm, Gozar, Buca Di Beppo, and as a Whole Foods Market catering director. Aside from owning an L.A. area catering company, Chef Jen is focusing on putting her knowledge and passion for food to teach others, and hopes to help others understand sourcing, cooking, and eating quality local ingredients!
