Cooking Class - Maki for Beginners

What You’ll Do

Get ready to learn the basics of maki and more in this interactive culinary experience.

In this hands-on class with Chef Jinhe, you will use high-quality ingredients and traditional Japanese cooking techniques while learning the ins and outs of preparing maki at home.

After beginning by building a refreshing Japanese salad with avocado and Mandarin oranges, Chef Jinhe will teach you how to properly prepare the sushi rice for your maki. Then, you will begin construction on three different sushi rolls— cucumber avocado rolls, classic California rolls, and rainbow maki —before ending on a sweet note with coconut milk jellies for dessert.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef was great! He was so patient and he answered all the questions. I’m a bit of a sushi snob and ammeter lover of Asian cuisine and he was so kind to give all the details and tips. I would totally recommend this event and anything he does!
