Cooking Class - The Art and Science of Pickling
Learn pickling methods that will add new and unpredictable flavors to your plate — and palate.
In this hands-on class with Chef Myisha, you will learn how to pickle and ferment four different items, then you'll prepare a four-course meal that showcases each one.
Chef Myisha will begin by talking briefly about fermentation and pickling. Then, you will learn the skills and techniques needed to ferment a traditional batch of kimchi, make quick cucumber pickles using the hot pour-over method, pickle peppers for hot sauce, and can a seasonal pickled fruit medley before sitting down and enjoying a delicious four-course meal together.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

With over 20 years of experience as a culinary arts instructor, Chef Myisha clearly loves sharing her knowledge and expertise gained from many years in the kitchen. Her grocery game is pretty strong, too. She’s been on Food Network twice and won an episode of "Guy’s Grocery Games." Chef Myisha has worked as a sous chef, executive chef and chef de cuisine in Michigan, New York and Seattle, where she has also been featured on local TV.
