What You’ll Do

Special herbed rice with baked trout, herb frittata and homemade desserts!

Join me for a traditional Persian New Year dinner to celebrate the first day of spring. I will be serving a delicious four-course meal by my fireplace where each course will be a different Persian dish with my own modern touch and presentation of the food.

I will start with two courses of appetizers, which will include the Persian staple dish Kookoo Sabzi (Herb Frittata). This will be followed by the main course, baked trout with special herbed rice and Persian kimchi. The fourth course will be two desserts, including a home-made Persian ice cream and Faloodeh. I will wrap up the meal with tea, coffee and a mocktail.

Your Menu

First Course

Noon o panir o sabzi: A platter of mixed fresh herbs (basil, mint, tarragon, watercress), walnuts, and imported feta cheese, served with Persian Lavash

Second Course

Kookoo Sabzi (Herb Frittata): This aromatic frittata is filled with six different herbs and greens, and eggs. A staple dish to celebrate the first day of spring and the Persian New Year

Main Course

Sabzi Polo Mahi: Baked trout, stuffed with herbs, tamarind paste, caramelized onion and garlic. On a bed of herbed basmati rice. Side of Torshi (Persian kimchi)

Dessert

Homemade Persian ice cream and Faloodeh: Persian ice cream (saffron ice cream with pistachios) and Faloodeh (thin rice noodles mixed in a semi-frozen syrup made from sugar and rose water, topped with candied rose petals and fresh mint)

Drinks

Non-alcoholic drinks: Soda, water, moctail, tea and coffee. For alcoholic drinks: BYOB

Marjan's food is very elegant. The herb-stuffed fish was noticeably fresh and healthy, and her rice dish the most unique. All with delightfully subtle and pronounced flavors everywhere. The homemade saffron ice cream with pistachio was A-MAZING. I left feeling something like that of a born-again Persian. I now love everything Persian. What a fun night!

Marjan's food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The main course, a lamb and eggplant dish was exquisite, as was the appetizer and dessert. I love Persian food!!! I love Marjan's cooking!

This was my first time using CozyMeal. My initial hesitation was quickly dismantled by Marjan's warm and friendly invitation to come in. She's truly a great host. We sat down & I got to meet several other cozy mealers. We chatted about the Bay Area and the ever-beautiful San Francisco, and then the first dish was presented to us. I'm an Iranian and I can honestly say I've never seen such a beautiful Persian appetizer in my life. Persian food doesn't usually look this great (though it tastes amazing). The taste was impeccable and only outdone by the main dish and dessert. I stayed longer than I thought because the entire group was having such a great time talking, joking, and laughing. In short, tasty foods, warm atmosphere, great host. I look forward to going back to Marjan's!

Marjan is a Master Chef! It was amazing to try beautifully presented and delicious Persian dishes. This is certainly the best Persian food in San Francisco!
