Pomodoro & Basil Sauce

Ingredients

  • 4 Tablespoon(s) Olive Oil
  • 1 Garlic Clove
  • 4/5 Basil Leaves
  • 1 Teaspoon(s) Sugar, ONLY if the Tomato is too Acidic
  • 300 Gram(s) Canned Chopped Tomatoes ( ideally MUTTI brand )
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste
  • 3/4 Tablespoon(s) Parmesan to garnish the pasta

Directions

  1. Heat the oil in a pan and add the garlic until it turns gold. (60-90 seconds)
  2. Add the tomatoes and basil leaves. Cover and gently cook for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Uncover and cook it for other 5 minutes.
  4. Add salt, pepper to taste.

Additional Notes

In addition, I suggest pairing the recipe we are going to prepare with a glass of White wine. The gentle and slightly sweet/acid taste of our pasta and ravioli seasoned with tomato sauce would be perfect with: Pinot Grigio from Trentino Alto Adige Region Orvieto Classico from Lazio Region Malvasia from Sicily Region Chardonnay from Trentino Alto Adige Region
