We cooked an amazing Italian 4 course meal. My favorite thing was learning the tidbits of cooking and feeling like I was in a safe inclusive environment. It was clean, intimate and I really enjoyed this unique experience. Chef L was a big part of the reason it was great, he was funny, smart, & made things simple and enjoyable.

The Mediterranean cuisine that we cooked was absolutely delicious. There was so much flavor. Chef Washington not only showed us some valuable cooking skills, but was outgoing and engaging throughout the process. I highly recommend taking a cooking class with Chef Washington. You won’t regret it.

This was a very fun experience given to me by my daughter as a Christmas gift.
We cooked Mediterranean fare and ate like Queens. This was a fun cooking lesson and a delicious meal.
This would be a great girls night out or even a date night for a couple.
I learned a lot of delicious ways to flavor my food with spices instead of salt.

Chef Washington was so accommodating and helpful. I'd never rolled sushi or created a roll before and he was a great teacher. My partner was running late and he was flexible and made sure he was caught up and able to get the full experience. The sushi was great and the family atmosphere was very wholesome. Definitely an experience I'd recommend to anyone.

We did the French cooking class with Chef Washington. It was an absolute blast! When we arrived, he had all the ingredients laid out in an organized manner that make cooking the meal fun, easy, and informative. We also got to take home any of the food we didn't eat. Chef Jane was also very knowledgeable, funny, and added positive energy to the class. It felt more like cooking (and eating) a delicious dinner with new friends than it did an intense cooking class, which I really enjoyed. Also, shoutout to Chef Charlie (his dog) for the furry company.

We learned so many things! Learned how to roll sushi, which I had never done before. How to fold and roll spring rolls, which was really cool. And the sauce for the noodles dish was absolutely unbelievably delicious. He was an incredible teacher and very patient with the twelve year old in our group as well as distracted adults! This was such a fun night. Great idea for a date night but we did it with a friend's family which was so much fun! And truly, the meal was hands down better than you would get at most restaurants.

Recently our Seattle team had the pleasure of enjoying a meal prepared by a truly wonderful chef. From the moment the first dish was served, it was clear that this chef is not only skilled but passionate about their craft. Chef Washington was attentive to dietary preferences and made personalized adjustments, ensuring that every guest felt valued and cared for. Each course was a masterpiece, both visually and in taste. Everyone was very pleased with how delicious this meal was. We definitely will be using him again in the future.

Chef Washington was very warm and welcoming, but also informative and professional while walking us through preparing an Italian dinner of seafood risotto, brown butter spaghetti with a pork belly tomato sauce. For dessert, we made a Panna Cotta. He took his time teaching us technique while also engaging us in meaningful conversation. We recommend Chef Washington’s class to anyone looking for an enjoyable, stress free, yet thorough cooking experience.

Chef Washington was a fantastic teacher! He and Chef Jane brought so passion to every aspect of the class. We made Tom Yum, Phad See Ew, Crying Tiger Steak, and Mango sticky rice. Everything was so thoughtfully prepared and the food was definitely some of the best thai food I've ever had. I would recommend this class to anyone with taste buds and anyone who wants to take their cooking to the next level. I will definitely be looking for more classes from these two.

I took a cooking class with my husband that Chef Washington was hosting. We made a variety of Thai dishes, from Tom Yum Soup to Pad Sew Ew and a few other dishes as well. It was amazing!!! Chef Washington was so helpful, knowledgeable, fun, and kind. I would highly recommend any of his classes!!! Take one and you will not regret it! :)

Our family of four chose to learn to prepare the Everyday Elegance menu. Chefs Larsen (Washington) and Jane were well prepared for us. The kitchen was ready to go, with stations well set up for each menu item. The ingredients were beautifully fresh and of very high quality. The chefs were very pleasant and engaging, and instructions were very clear, with fun facts and good in depth explanations on why we did things a certain way. The pace was just right - neither rushed nor slow. We were encouraged to taste as we cooked. The meal was served on an elegantly set table and each course was truly delicious. Over our meal we discussed the whole process, and everyone had a chance to weigh in. We went home with a wonderful set of recipes and are ready to cook each item again soon!! A great experience from start to finish - Thank you!!

This sushi cooking class incorporated a full range of delights: spring rolls, noodles and vegetable mix, sushi wraps and matcha drink. The class takes place in a private home; the chef is energetic and personable. The hands-on learning gave each participant (three teenagers and two grandparents) an interactive experience. Each of us delighted in the tastes of our own interests without the chef being overbearing on how we were cooking. This provided some individuality to the class. One participant was a vegan and the chef made special accommodations for her. The best learning our family had was to not be timid about trying different foods and to openly explore cooking styles.

The chef Washington and his assistant Jane were awesome. We had an absolutely wonderful cooking class at our home. From the moment it started, everything was well organized. We had a fabulous night at Chef Washington’s home! We learned how to make seafood risotto, brown butter pasta with a short rib rue, and the most delicious pancetta. He was a great conversationalist throughout the learning process & Jane, his partner was equally as amazing/fun! We planned this date night to step out of our comfort zones but Chef Washington made us comfortable in his own home, taught us new skills, and let us take our leftovers home. I took Chef Washington’s Soulful Southern Classics class. The material was well-organized and the flow a good pace that wasn’t daunting for someone new to Southern cooking. I lovely evening learning the process of multiple Thai dishes. So much thought and care put into the evening by the chef in the comfort of his own home. Fantastic experience from start to finish in a warm, welcoming and clean setting. By the end, I felt confident I could do it again on my own! To top it off, it was my birthday and was so elated to see them bring a cake out for desert. What a special gift and I am so thankful to chef Washington for such a memorable evening. Chef Washington was a gracious host who taught us how to prepare Moraccan food. We made a rou for the couscous with vegetables, sauteed chicken strips, and made a lemon cake. The lamb fell off the bone, and when paired with the couscous, was excellent. We also had some mint tea, which was fabulous. We enjoyed the company and the food. An overall excellent experience.

We had an amazing evening , thanks to chef Washington. I had requested him for a dinner for me and my husband and he didn’t disappoint. The food was amazing and so was the conversation. We opted for his Spanish menu with some modifications which he accommodated without any issue. We loved the paella and chicken meat balls , the flan was divine. We would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a low key casual date night at home with amazing food.

We had a great time at our cooking experience. We felt very welcome in his home, and the food was fantastic. The chicken adobo was amazingly flavorful. We wished we would have been able to help with a little bit more of the prep work, but understand that there is not time for everything. Chef Washington was so generous to let us into his home for a cooking class! The food was hearty, huge portions, and so delicious. We loved that he made it not stressful, but we were still able to learn a lot and take home skills for future cooking. He had everything prepped, so we really got to focus on the cooking and methods. Had a great time! The food was AMAZING and the hosts/chefs were so friendly, hospitable, and accommodating. He offers 24 different types of classes as well, so we’ll be back for another class to learn a different type of cuisine. Overall, it was a great experience and successful date night. I would highly recommend this class—the food was outstandingly delicious!!

We booked a cooking class with Chef Washington to celebrate my husbands birthday, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The moment we stepped into his home, he made us feel comfortable and welcomed, setting the tone for a fun and engaging evening.

Chef Washington’s passion for cooking was evident, and his sous chef, Jane, was equally fantastic—super personable, helpful, and a great addition to the experience.
The food we made was delicious—each dish had that perfect balance of cozy, home-cooked comfort with the quality you’d expect from a-restaurant. The flavors were rich, and every bite felt like true Southern hospitality on a plate. It was the kind of meal that warms your soul. We had a grand time learning how to make Paella, Albondigas, Egg Tortilla and Delicious Flan! Chef Larson Washington gave us clear directions and made us feel very welcome and adventurous in his kitchen. He's an excellent teacher and knows how to ask great questions to keep the conversation going.
The food was delightful, though still my favorite was the flan. We hope to use his recipes to entertain our friends. I had never made meatballs, so that I learned that, and also liked his style of cleaning up as you go. I highly recommend his classes!

Don't hesitate to book an experience with Chef Washington. We did his Rush of Spanish Flavors class and it was incredibly fun, engaging and also tasty. He ensured everyone was involved, taught us lessons along the way and kept enquiring on our experience as the night went along to ensure we were all having a good time. 10/10 I will book again.

Chef was so welcoming! He had everything prepped and ready to go. It was basically a private class for me & my husband. We Learned how to cook an entire meal which included a paella, torta, albondigas, and a flan for dessert. Delicioso! We ate our masterpieces and even brought home leftovers to enjoy. Chef Washington was knowledgeable, a very patient instructor and you could tell how much he enjoys teaching.

Chef Washington did a great job of making feel at ease immediately upon arrival. He provided all the ingredients and did a great job helping us all feel part of the cooking experience. There were 4 of us, and of the 4, 2 were experienced and 2 were no and he did a great job adjusting to our individual knowledge levels. And so much food! I'm glad I read the earlier reviews to bring containers for leftovers. Definitely would recommend Chef Washington!

Walking in was a bit intimidating because the menu was something I always enjoyed eating but never knew how to make myself. The initial meet and greet was a nice ice breaker. Chef Washington made sure everyone was engaged and there was something for all to do in a timely manner. The signage at the entrance before departing was also a nice touch. Overall, great experience!

If you're thinking of booking any experience with Chef Washington just do it! He taught my husband and I so much in just 1 cooking class, and we all prepared a fabulous meal with tons of leftovers. I admittedly am not great in the kitchen, but Chef Washington made me feel confident and accomplished. Chef Washington is a wonderful teacher, host and cook. We can't wait to book with him again!

Chef Washington did a great job with adjusting the menu to accommodate our various dietary restrictions! the intro ice breaker was a great way to start the evening. Chef made sure we all had tasks and were contributing to the meal. I do wish that cozy meal was a bit more clear from the start that when you select the option to host in your own home there is going to be a lot of clean up once the meal is over. Luckily our team did a good job working together and no one was left to do it all themselves.

He did a great job of explaining each step and assigning out multiple tasks and checking our work throughout. He was a delight to visit with and the food was amazing. Bring to go containers! Chef Washington and the entire experience was amazing from start to finish. He promptly replied to questions before our arrival and offered alternatives to accommodate a peach allergy. We chose the Soulful Southern cooking class to try a new spin on dishes we already enjoy and learn a few professional tips. He had great energy and the conversation flowed naturally. He also did a good job explaining how to make the food, and we were able to taste everything as we made it. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun evening and a gourmet meal!

Chef Washington curated an amazing experience! My wife and I chose his course because we love to cook and his menus go above and beyond standard fare. Everything we made/ate was eHe surprised us a with an additional dish of fried catfish (one of my favorites) and paired our meals with a perfect zinfandel.
We had an amazing time and learned a lot in the process. I can’t recommend him enough and my wife and I are looking forward to trying one of his other menus in the future!

Chef Washington did an awesome job on our meal! It was delicious and such a good representation of PNW foods. We hired him to make a meal for a work function which was held in an airbnb - so there were some unknown elements regarding what would be in the kitchen. He did a great job of planning for the unknowns and being flexible when something was supposed to have been there but was not. He also did a great job of cooking on the island part of the kitchen while we were all around him in the kitchen and dining room. I cannot recommend him enough! And for my fellow Bainbridge Islanders - he did say he would consider coming to the island!

It was pleasantly surprising that we had the opportunity to prepare even more dishes than what was initially planned on the menu. I bought this class for my second anniversary knowing nothing about Cozymeal or Chef Washington. The class turned out to be amazing. Chef was welcoming, friendly, and brought a comforting atmosphere. He teaches cooking in middle school so it was second nature being a leader in the kitchen for him. Chef always had something for everyone to do, and made it essential that everybody got a try at cooking. He also had a dog named Charlie who I found adorable.
At the end, (as awesome as I think he is) I liked that we ate without Chef. It gave the class a chance to connect a little bit. Maybe I only liked it because the other couple was a pleasure as well.
All in all, Chef Washington is a great teacher, cook, and host. And I would recommend him to any person.

First Cozymeal experience, and my bf and I really enjoyed our time with Chef Washington! He provided with aprons and name tags, took time to do introductions and share fun facts, then he walked through the menu. I was really excited for this class as I haven't dabbled in cooking French cuisine, and his kindness and approachability made it much easier to jump in.
It was just the three of us in the kitchen, and Chef Washington was very good at checking in, gauging our interests, delegating, and supporting. With a small group, we were all staying busy and it was really engaging to cook. He gave us tips and tricks along the way for cooking and we chatted throughout the night about life, interests, and food.
The meal was so good and it was rewarding that we helped cook it. The chicken fricassee and mushroom gravy were absolutely delicious. The chicken fell right off the bone. We also made an extra dish, as he made the pate ahead of time due to the time constraints. I loved the pate; while basic ingredients, the labor of love and technique to build flavor was evident here. YUM. This exceeded any expectation I had. Thanks for hosting us, Chef Washington!
Tips:
- bring a water bottle and stay hydrated throughout the experience. Chef offered us bottled water he had in the fridge, but even with 3 of us, we were losing track of which bottle was whose.
- bring your own to-go containers, in case you have any leftovers you'd like to take. Chef generously gave one of his big containers and some ziplocs.

Chef Washington was friendly and a wonderful host. We signed up for the French cooking class, and the chef welcomed us into his lovely home. He had prepared some snacks and wine from the appetizer portion of the menu, so we could chat and get comfortable as we prepared to cook.
Chef Washington was great about making sure everybody had something to do and felt included, and had us pause a few times to taste what we were preparing. In addition to the recipe, he taught us a few basic techniques that I think we'll all find useful going forward. When we finished, he had us sit down at the table with some wine and served us the fabulous meals we helped to cook.
I can definitely recommend the experience! We had a lot of fun, learned a lot, and the food was amazing. Thank you again!

Oh, so many negatives that way out way the few positives. First, the, “chef,” cancelled day of our class with just a few hours before start. We rescheduled, I got sick and had to reschedule again. Day of class he asked if we wanted to change time.
I wasn’t aware that the class was being held in his home. The kitchen didn’t seem clean, nothing matched, cooking oil was old, he wasn’t feeling well and rushed us through everything. After we were rushed through the cooking process he rudely rushed us through dinner.
He complained the whole time about feeling sick and he showed signs of being sick. (Coughing, sneezing, running nose, etc…) He had no patience while instructing, again, rushed us through.
He had to many irons in the fire. During our class a person came to his front door. This person was there to AirB and B a room from him, during the cooking class I paid top dollar for!
After cooking, which only took 30-40 mins., we sat down to eat. He continued to cough, sneeze, yawn and complain about getting sick and being so tired. He had the nerve to sit at the end of the dinner table, get on his phone and put his feet up on a dinning chair with only socks on! We rushed through dinner to stop hearing him go
complaining and get out of there. We were all down in less than 70 mins.
I will not recommended him or Cozymeal to anyone. This was a complete waste of my time, a lot of money, gas to get there and our time. So much more negative, just tired of thinking about it anymore. It wouldn’t salvage what was to be a special date night, but a full refund would be the very least the company could do to TRY to make up this huge disappointment.

Was bummed to have the experience we had. Chef Washington was distracted by a football game and was doing his best to get us out of there as soon as possible which meant I would do one dish and my guest did another dish and he also did much of the cooking himself and we both did not learn all the dishes. The whole process was super rushed. All of the recipes were altered and not what we paid for. The risotto was the best part of the meal even though it was a seafood risotto, not a mushroom risotto. Chef Washington overcooked the pork (not pork chops) in the oven which made them super chewy. He rushed cooking the butter, which meant it was not actually brown butter, and the pan was too hot when putting in the scallops which ended up being burned and over cooked - all per his instructions - and they also were not good. He also instructed me to stop whipping the cream too early for the tiramisu and he added way too much rum - an entire little bottle, which was way more than the recipe called for, so not only was the tiramisu visibly watery and runny, it tasted like pure alcohol. The entire experience was disappointing. He was clearly distracted watching tv, visibly tired, and rushing us out. Another note, he must have said "seriously" like 100 times in the night to every single thing any of us said which got slightly annoying by the end of the night - he clearly was not actually listening to us when we responded to questions he asked us. When we posed the experience to cozy meal expressing our disappointment - he acknowledged the challenges and understand our concerns and we got a partial refund which was also disappointed as I believe a full refund was warranted. I would not book with him again.

I am sad to post a negative review, but I think other customers need to know what happened to us before choosing to book their own experience. I wish I had spent more time vetting Cozymeal before spending a lot of money on what ended up being an expensive disappointment. Bottom line, our instructor was friendly, but there were several important misses in our experience. A serious food allergy ignored. Concerns regarding food handling safety. Dishes that were not aligned with the cuisine. Incomplete dishes. We booked this for six adults as a private cooking class. It did not, in any of our opinions, live up to Cozymeal’s promise to deliver an “exceptional service” experience produced by a “certified chef.” I reached out directly to Cozymeal regarding our concerns but received no response other than to say they would look into it. There was no follow-up after that. Cozymeal buyers beware.

While the food tasted great, especially the confit chicken from Chef Larson and the apple tarts that we made, I felt like this experience in comparison to some of the others that I've had on CozyMeal fell short in a few ways:
- Kitchen floor felt dirty/grimy (Slippers should have been provided)
- No aprons (Should probably have been provided for all the splatter on our clothes from the oil)
- Experience felt haphazard and a bit disorganized
- Our names were confused basically the entire experience (name tags were definitely needed)
- Because we were switching between so many stations, it might have made more sense to provide us with disposable kitchen gloves so we didn't have to wash our hands so many times when switching from say touching chicken to touching veggies. Or just...more tongs.
I think out of the whole experience, the only thing I got out of it was making a roux as that was the only station I was at long enough to finish what I was doing. We were shifted around so many times that it was hard to stay focused on what we're doing and learning.
To make the experience better, I believe the Chef should either provide the slippers/gloves/aprons or possibly let the customers know beforehand to bring those on their own.

Chef was hospitable. Home was clean. Experience felt disorganized, lacking preparation. It was as if we were the first customers to attend this experience for this chef.

Very nice guy. This was his first class and he has some kinks to work out, The concept is great and we had a really fun group of people. Having the ingredients cleaned, trimmed and prepped ahead of time would have made the cooking more efficient. Explaining each course and how it is prepared to everyone would have been better than assigning each person to a task. Have guests being their own aprons.
