Online Cooking Class - A Focus on Cooking Techniques

Join Chef Logan for an in-depth introduction into the Maillard reaction and other cooking techniques.

Take a dive into the chemistry side of cooking in this interactive, live online cooking class with Chef Logan. You’ll learn all about the Maillard reaction — how to transform texture and flavor by cooking food until the natural sugars begin to caramelize — along with new knife skills, such as chiffonade and julienne cuts. Some of the recipes you'll prepare include roasted salsa roja and Mexican street-style Cajun chicken tacos served with a variety of toppings.

Use the following recipe as optional prep work to create your own Cajun spice blend from scratch. Ingredients: 2 1/2 Tbsp Paprika 2 Tbsp Salt 2 Tbsp Garlic powder 1 Tbsp Black pepper 1 Tbsp Onion powder 1 Tbsp Cayenne pepper 1 Tbsp Dried leaf oregano 1 Tbsp Dried thyme Directions: Mix in a bowl!
